My preschool daughter cannot wait for the classroom Valentine's Day card exchange! This is the caticorn valentine that she will be handing out to her preschool friends.
She absolutely loves cats, unicorns, rainbows, and colors. This caticorn valentines card checks all those off.
Since she loves crafts, we designed these cards together. She sat on my lap at my computer and pointed around at the colors and pictures, and shared all her feedback while I shifted things around on the screen. Leave a note for her below if you love this design!
My Kid Loves This Unicorn Cat Valentine Card
I have to give my daughter a lot of credit with these caticorn valentine cards. She sat on my lap and dictated everything as I designed the printable. Then, she helped with every part of the assembly.
Here's what she did:
- Designed the card by giving me lots of verbal instructions and input
- Helped use our paper cutter to cut the printable valentines
- Wrote her own name on the cards (for most of them)
- Inserted pencils into the printed valentine cards
- Bagged them up to get them ready to bring to school
I intentionally only included a spot to write the valentine card giver’s name. You can also edit the PDF and type in your kid's name to make it even easier. She didn't want her name typed.
We didn't include a "To:" field on this card. Without the recipient names, these caticorn valentine cards are great for younger kids to hand out.
Also, there's no tape, string, or glue required to prepare this caticorn valentine. If you want to include a pencil, an adult will need to make the slit. But once that is done, any kid can insert the pencils.
Printable Pencil Valentine For the Class
This printable valentine card can be used with or without a pencil. My little girl wanted to give away rainbow pencils. Easy enough. So, that's what we did!
Fun Pencil Recommendations for the Valentine
Here are a few other fun pencils to use for this unicorn cat valentine:
- If you are looking for regular lead for writing, this eco-friendly pencil is made of rainbow wood. The outside of the pencil is pastel color, so it would look great with the caticorn valentines.
- Here's a fun 4 color rainbow pencil, with rainbow wood surrounding the lead, and a rainbow barrel.
How to Insert the Pencils
It's easy to insert a pencil into this printable unicorn valentine. No glue or tape is required.
Simply use an x-acto blade, craft knife, or box cutter to make two one-centimeter slits. Make the first slit at the base of the printed caticorn horn. Next, make the second slit directly below in the black space.
Finally, gently insert the pencil through the slits. If the slits are a good size, the pencils won't slide around.
This Printable Caticorn Valentine Card is Good for a Big Class
My daughter's preschool has kids who only come on certain days. So once you add up all the kids who will want a valentines card, it ends up being a big class.
We need to prepare 48 valentines to hand out. That's a lot!
But no worries. It's simple with this printable pencil valentine. You can print as many copies as you need. Pencils are also cheap and easy to buy in bulk. I share some pencil recommendations above.
