Spring is already in full force in so many places, but we are just starting to feel it where we live. We had 70 degree weather for a week, then a big snow storm last weekend. The sun is back out today and the snow has all melted.
I'm looking forward to giving this new spring scavenger hunt to the kids today so they can do it after school. If all goes according to plan, I'll have these printed for them by the time they come home, and they can do the scavenger hunt after a favorite trail mix snack.

Fun Spring Scavenger Hunt For Weekdays or Weekends
This spring scavenger hunt can work in a variety of different situations. If you have lots of nature in the backyard, you can print the scavenger hunt two per page, clip them onto this handy clipboard, and send the kids to go do it themselves.
Another fun family activity is to bring the scavenger hunt with you on a neighborhood walk, and see how many scavenger hunt items the kids can spot on the way.
I don't anticipate this scavenger hunt taking too long. It's perfect for either after school or a lazy weekend afternoon.
Lots to See and Spot During the Spring Months
The spring season is an exciting time for a kids scavenger hunt. This scavenger hunt has a mix of nature items and items you would see in a neighborhood.
There is so much change happening in nature during the spring. Flowers are blooming, animals are up and moving, insects are buzzing, and the weather changes constantly.
In neighborhoods, kids are bringing out bikes and baseball bats. People hang up bird feeders and pull out gardening equipment from sheds and garages.
TIP: Print the scavenger hunt 2 pages per sheet (so they are ½ page each), and give the kids these cute small clipboards for walks.

What Is On This Spring Scavenger Hunt For Kids
On this springtime scavenger hunt, kids look for these 14 items:
- butterfly
- bumblebee
- feather
- tulip
- watering can
- daffodils
- colorful rainboots
- umbrella
- spider web
- bicycle
- puddle
- nest
- baseball bat

All the items should be relatively easy for kids to find, and this should be a fun and easy scavenger hunt.
What Age Is This Scavenger Hunt Suitable For?
This printable scavenger hunt is good for elementary-aged kids and younger. I included both words and pictures, so kids of all ages can play.
My two kids often like to do scavenger hunts together. Once in a while, the older kid doesn't like the younger one to follow. So if you have multiple kids, it might be a good idea to print a copy out for each kid.
You can also print out a couple of extra copies and have the kids do this scavenger hunt with friends. It's a fun activity to do on a playdate.
