Halloween Teacher Gift Tags
The kids asked to make treat bags for their teachers for Halloween, so I created these printable gift tag labels this morning for them to use. There's a total of six designs, each with cute Halloween images and a short message.
Making these Halloween treat bags for their teachers ended up being a surprisingly lovely weekend morning craft. The two kids worked together to make the gift tags while I enjoyed watching them interact and figure things out.

She Loved Cutting the Halloween Gift Tags Out
For the most part, my four-year-old was able to make the Halloween teacher treat bags by herself. In the photo, she is using fancy scissors to cut out the printed gift tags.
I love how she is doing her best. And since these are for preschool teachers, there's no need to worry about them looking perfect. Of all people, I bet her teachers would appreciate the homemade crafted look.
Kid craft scissors are pretty handy for little hands. She loves using them, and it's a really simple way to make doing crafts that much more fun.
She loved the craft scissors so much, that she wanted to cut more. So after cutting the printable gift tags out, my four-year-old glued the tags onto color paper. Then, she cut a border around the gift tags.

Kids Love Using the Hole Puncher
Next, my eight-year-old used my single hole punch to make a spot for the ribbon to go through. You might use your eagle eyes to spot that the hole punch is a heart shape 🧡 (my favorite one).
Also, any eagle eyes might notice that the black dotted line hole is misaligned on the gift tags in the photo. Don't worry, I caught that and fixed it on the printable Halloween teacher gift tags that you download below. We didn't want to waste these otherwise good tags though, so we just used it.

What Did We Put In These Halloween Teacher Treat Bags?
I didn't get a picture of the inside, but these little treat bags are filled with Biscoff Cookies and several pieces of candy.
If we had planned ahead more, I would have made sure to buy some post-it notes to put in them too. However, the kids woke up and wanted to make the Halloween teacher treat bags. Naturally, I love when they want to brighten someone's day. So we did the best with what we had.
Some ideas to fill in Halloween teacher treat bags:
- Post-It Notes
- Individual Wrapped Biscoff Cookies (so yummy!)
- Candy
- Emergen-C Immune+ packs
- Yogi Tea Echinacea Immune Support
- Kind Thins Chocolate Pumpkin Spice Bars
- Gift cards
Here's a (sort of related) question for you. I bought Biscoff Cookies to give away on Halloween. What do you think? Will it be a hit? Amazon sells individual wrapped cookies in a box of 300.
We all love them. Plus, I thought they would be a nice treat that's a bit different than the usual candy. Even more, the kids can pack in their lunch boxes if we don't give them all away, unlike extra candy.

How To Dress Up These Gift Tags
I'll be the first to admit. The gift tags look very homemade DIY in the photos. It's endearing to me because I know my kids made them 🙃
Once they got started, I didn't want to interrupt. They raided the craft drawer and picked the scissors, hole punch, color paper, silver treat bags, and ribbon.
However, the printable gift tags can be dressed up too. Here's how I imagined the tags looking when I designed them:
- Cut the printed tags with craft wiggly scissors
- Glue the cut tags onto orange card stock
- Cut the card stock with a straight edge (for a cleaner look)
- Tie the gift tags on with a linen-look ribbon or natural twine
No worries though. We just hope our teachers enjoy this Halloween treat idea and know that we are thankful for them.
