Printable Snow Day Activity Bingo
We're anticipating a huge snow storm later this week. The kids definitely know what that means. As a result, they have been running around chanting, SNOW DAY!
Luckily, with the heads up from the forecast, I have a few days to prepare for this snow day. I created a fun activity bingo for the kids to do while they are at home.
As weather reports are not always fully accurate, it's hard to know how the actual weather will be on the snow day. Will it be too windy and wild to go outside to play? Or, will the snow fall peacefully, but rapidly?

Snow Day Bingo has Both Indoor and Outdoor Activities
Because of the uncertainty, this snow day bingo contains a mix of indoor and outdoor activities.
You'll find a lot more indoor activities on the bingo card. I made it this way because the kids might need adult supervision for the outdoor activities.
It's hard to spend all day outside if you have things to do. So, hopefully the indoor activities will keep them occupied and busy.
If you can't make it outside for the snow day, this activity bingo can still work. Specifically, there are three ways to get a bingo that require no outdoor activities.

Indoor Activities on the Snow Day Bingo
Here's the list of all the indoor activity options on the printable bingo cards. Remember, kids don't need to do all of them. They can pick and chose how to get their bingo.
- Build a fort in your bedroom or living room
- Read a book for 20 minutes
- Count the number of chairs in your home
- Listen to an audiobook
- Take a bubble bath
- Have a dance party
- Drink a cup of hot cocoa (make it special with a sprinkle rimmed glass)
- Play a board game
- Learn to spell three new words
- Sit quietly by the fireplace for 20 minutes
- Draw and color a picture of a snowman
- Play an instrument or sing for 20 minutes
- Use a ruler to measure your snow boots
- Write a card to a friend and mail it
- Make paper snowflakes
- Stay in pajamas all day
- Do 50 jumping jacks
Outdoor Activities on the Snow Day Bingo
Here's the list of all the outdoor activity options on the printable bingo cards. Naturally, some of these can keep kids occupied for a very long time outside.
- Shovel snow
- Build a snowman or snow sculpture
- Catch snowflakes on your tongue
- Aim a snowball at a target
- Make fun footprints in the snow
- Do a snow day photoshoot
- Make a snow angel
Can Kids Do The Snow Day Bingo By Themselves?
A lot of the activities can be done individually by an elementary aged kid. However, a few of the activities require parent (or sibling/friend) involvement.
For example, playing a board game might be easier with another person. But there are many great single player games. A few of our favorites are Colorku, Gravity Maze, and Kanoodle. In addition, we always count puzzles too.
Kids Will Love the Snow Day Bingo
Kids are really funny creatures. I know if I give them the same list of activities to do, they won't do it. And yet this snow day bingo card is guaranteed to be a hit.
Using an activity bingo gives kids incentive to do the activities. Plus, it gives the kids control over which activities they want to do.

Prize Ideas for Completing the Activity Bingo
Do you have any good ideas for what kids can get when they finish the activity bingo? I've been brainstorming ideas. Accordingly, here are some of my thoughts.
Screen Time
Since this bingo board doesn’t have any screen time options, the easiest bingo reward would be some screen time. I think I'll offer 15 minutes of video games for each bingo row, up to three rows.
In addition, if they fill the whole board, they can also watch a movie.
Bake Cookies or Make a Dessert
Making a fun treat would also be a fun prize for completing the snow day bingo. Our kids have been wanting to make sugar cookies. Accordingly, I think they would love making snow themed cookies. Here's an easy snowflake cookie recipe I've bookmarked.
We also love this recipe for cinnamon sugar pull apart bread. It's super easy to make with crescent rolls.
