We frequently camp with the kids and have picked up a lot of tips and tricks over the years. Today, I'm sharing the ideas and camping activities that the kids love to do while at and around the campsite.

I complied 24 fun camping activities for kids into a printable activity bingo. Since the kids love activity bingos, I made this printable for them. You can get the free printable PDF Camping Activity Bingo below.

Fun Things To Do Camping

There are so many fun things for kids to do while camping. Most often, the kids simply explore and play when we are out camping.

It's always super fun when we go with family friends with kids. That way, all the kids play together and keep each other company.

This printable camping activity bingo lists 24 fun things that the kids love doing when we are camping. It's a mix of quiet activities for kids to do by themselves, and a few activities that will require parental supervision (like going a hike).

Most of these activities are done at or around the campsite. Therefore, it's a pretty relaxed activity bingo and doesn't require extra preparation or packing. Just don't forget to print it out before the camping trip.

Get the Kids To Explore Nature

On this printable activity bingo, you'll find lots of fun activities that simply encourage kids to have fun outside in nature. Even though we live in a spot with a lot of nature around us, we still love getting out into nature when we go camping.

Here are 13 outdoor nature related camping activities for kids to do:

• Look for a spider web
• Use a stick to draw in the dirt
• Find animal tracks
• Take a picture with your favorite view
• Watch the sunset
• Go on a hike
• Spot 3 different types of birds
• Find and smell a wildflower
• Sit quietly and listen to the wildlife
• Splash around in a lake or river
• Read a book in nature
• Stargaze at night

Kids Camping Chores

A large part of every camp trip is spent doing camp chores. The kids help out with a lot around the campsite.

Here's some ideas on how kids can participate in camp chores:

• Clear the sleeping area from rocks and pinecones
• Help stake in and assemble the tent (they LOVE using this rubber mallet)
• Unroll the sleeping pads and sleeping bags to set up
• Pack up sleeping bags at the end
• Help cook meals
• Fill the dish washing tub with water
• Wash dishes after eating
• Dry dishes after washing
• Collect firewood (if allowed)

The chores included in the printable activity bingo isn't a comprehensive list of chores that kids can do. Instead, I included just a few chores that the kids always do. That way they will be able to check some activities off easily on the activity bingo.

I included the following four on the printable camping bingo:

• Put on sunscreen
• Help set up the tent
• Find a piece of litter and throw it away
• Wash dishes after eating

Fun Things For Kids To Do at a Campsite

We spend a lot of time at our campsite when we go camping with the kids. While there, the kids sit around and simply enjoy being outside and having everyone together.

If possible, we like to camp by water so the kids can play in whatever stream or lake that runs by. In addition, the kids also like bringing their bikes to explore the campground.

Here are a few fun things we like to do while just sitting around a campsite:

• Play I Spy

• Drink hot chocolate or tea
• Make a campfire
• Tell a story by the campfire
• Make and eat s’mores
• Make shadow puppets at night

Things For Kids To Do in a Tent

At night, the kids absolutely love going into the tent early to have some time to play around inside. While in the tent, we also chat and play simple games. There's a lot to do inside a tent. For example:

• Get cozy in your sleeping bag
• Use a flashlight
• Play a game like 2 Truths and a Lie or I Spy
• Use these conversation cards to chat together
